What is a Foursquare Church?

The Shepherd's House is part of the Foursquare Family. Foursquare is a Pentecostal denomination that was founded by Aimee Semple McPherson right here in Southern California. For more information about Foursquare's history, beliefs, and current statistics please click on this link:

What is the distinction of a Pentecostal Church? What can I expect at a church service?

The primary distinction of a Pentecostal Church is that it operates under the fundamental belief that the events that took place at the Birthplace of the Church in Acts 2 are still in operation today and until Christ's return. This belief is centered on what is seen as fulfillment to the prophet Joel in Acts 2:17, "In the last days, God says, I will pour out My Spirit on all people. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams."

At a church service people are welcomed and invited to lift their hands in worship, praise God with their voices, and room is made to allow God to speak by His Holy Spirit through one another as described in I Corinthians 12 and 14

Is there something available for my kids?

YES! We are focused and dedicated to reaching and shaping the faith of the next generation. Our Kids program is led by loving and capable leaders. We have two primary locations where the kids gather during our Sunday morning service. We have our classrooms for children from birth through Kindergarten down the hall in our children's wing. Across from our children's classrooms, we offer Kids Church for children in first through sixth grade. These classes help shape our children in a safe environment where they can have fun, meet friends, encounter God's love, and grow in their faith.

What about something for teenagers?

Although our youth group, CrossCulture, is currently small in size, it is big in the priority and activity of seeing young men and women live a committed and transformed life as a disciple of Jesus Christ. CrossCulture Youth meets every Sunday night at 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm for a time that includes worship, teaching, discussion, games, and always great food/snacks. Because we believe that every person is a part of the larger church family the youth participate in the main service on the 1st Sunday of the month for communion and then serve in an area of ministry (Children's Ministries, Usher/Greeter, Set-Up, etc...) each month.

Will I be able to find the church and parking lots easily?

The church is located on Townsgate Rd. just off of Hampshire Rd. (right next door to the batting cages). You are welcome to park anywhere in the industrial complex, except we ask that you please do not park in front of the batting cages. There is also ample parking on the street.

What, if anything, should I bring to a church service?

The most important thing to bring with you is an open heart. We also want to strongly encourage to bring a Bible. We read and teach from the NIV (New International Version). You are welcome to also bring a notepad, but we do provide teaching notes and pens. Also, bring someone with you, as we want to reach as many people as possible with the love of God and the Good News of Jesus Christ!
