21 Days- Search and Resurrection!
“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all of your heart.”- Jeremiah 29:13
About a month ago I discovered a tool that has made my work go so much easier. It has to do with FINDING FILES on the computer. In the past, I have spent many minutes with multiple mouse clicks searching for documents. Well, not anymore! The new way I am using to locate my documents is doing a search based on the date modified. This game-changer has me finding what I need at record speed!
In just over a month we will be coming to EASTER. As we draw closer to this celebration of Jesus’ resurrection life and victory, I believe God is calling us into a season of FOCUSED SEEKING. Next week begins the Lent calendar, which marks 40 days of reflection, preparation, and sacrifice leading up to Easter. I am inviting you to join our church in a TWENTY-ONE DAY FAST which we are calling “Search and Resurrection!” beginning next Wednesday (February 26th).
We are seeking God for a great harvest of people saved this Easter and for the resurrection power to be manifest in our lives. Romans 8:11 tells us to believe for and experience resurrection power, “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.” We will begin this corporate, churchwide fast with a special Healing Night (next Wednesday at 7 pm). Join us for worship, a prayer time for the lost, anointing and laying hands on all who need a God touch, and a message on fasting entitled, “God’s Fast Track!” We will then conclude the fast with another special gathering on Wednesday, March 18th, as we have a church family dinner followed by a Night of Worship (6-8:30 pm).
As we prepare our hearts for the work God wants to do in our church and community, please be in prayer about what type of fast you will participate in* (*some will have restrictions due to health issues and dietary needs). Here are four fasts that you may want to consider during this time:
1) The Daniel Fast (Daniel 1:11-16): This will be the primary fast for the church during the twenty-one days. This is where one limits their diet to only fruits and vegetables.
2) Intermittent Fasting: Some may choose to fast once a week for the entire day or to only eat one meal a day for an allotted number of days.
3) A Choice Fast: This is where a person removes a specific item from their diet. For example one may want to abstain from having bread, snacks, or caffeine during the fast.
As we take our focus and dependence off of food, the Holy Spirit is calling us to believe for a great gathering of people into God’s kingdom, for an outpouring of His life which will deliver a breaking of every chain, a defeating of every enemy, and an outpouring of every blessing in this Easter season. In Isaiah 58:6, 8 God says, “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.”
Are you ready for your miracle?
Are you ready for lives to be radically changed and raised into newness by Jesus?
