Graduate to Greatness
“And His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms.”- Ephesians 1:19-20
May and June mean it is GRADUATION TIME! On campuses all across the nation students of all ages, from elementary school through graduate programs, will be taking part in ceremonies, wearing caps and gowns, hearing inspiring commencement speeches, and receiving well-earned diplomas. Even in our church we have three amazing leaders who have completed their studies, advancing them forward in God’s calling and ministry. This is a time of grand celebration and achievement.
All these graduations have me thinking about growing as believers and in the greatness God wants us to walk in. We were never meant to live a life that stays at base camp, has a minimum approval rating, or remains in cruise control. We’re designed by God to bear fruit and commissioned to increase in it. In John 15:2 Jesus said, “God cuts off every branch in Me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”
God is calling us to live beyond the elementary places of faith through the empowering authority and vitality of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is our Master Teacher who is constantly speaking, shaping, and strengthening us to do the will of God and excel in this life. As we walk with and learn from Him, we are going to see greatness move from a seed in our heart to signs in our lives. Greatness can transpire and transform our everyday activities, relationships, possessions, and careers. In 2 Corinthians 4:7 we read Paul’s powerful proclamation, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that the all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
Church family, I commission us to be the class of 2024 with a 24/7 GPA (God’s purpose and anointing)!
