Prepared Well Done
“But Jesus answered them, ‘My Father is working until now, and I am working.”- John 5:17
Did you have a family gathering for Easter? If so, you may have been the recipient and benefactor of an amazing meal. What often gets overlooked at a special holiday brunch or dinner are the people responsible for preparing the feast. The food may be devoured in minutes, but the fine cuisine took hours to perfect.
The above words from Jesus have “come alive” in my heart in the past week. That should come as no surprise, as God’s Holy Word is a Living Word (Hebrews 4:12), being planted in our hearts and bringing power to our lives. This truth was a timely reminder that my CONFIDENCE does not come based on my CIRCUMSTANCES. My trust, expectation, belief in a great and victorious outcome is based on God being good and doing good. Towards the end of Joshua’s life, he recapped how God was always keeping His promises and performing His wonders. Joshua 21:45 says, “Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”
In a recent interview, a renowned celebrity and icon in the music industry shared that he had “beef” (problems) with Jesus. This person who has had moments of seeking God and falling away, shared that his main point of contention was that Jesus had not answered his prayers when he needed Him the most.
There are occasions as we wait on God to answer and help, that it feels like time is running out and the math is not adding up. When the answer feels LATE, it does not mean that God is not WORKING on it. When the answer is not to our LIKING, it does not mean that God’s ways are less WONDERFUL. The outcomes we experience will teach us that God is fully aware of it and properly handling it. He truly does care enough to send you the very best! Ephesians 3:20 tells us, “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”
May your faith be ready to be filled and fired up by the work Jesus is doing today and that is on the way!
