Regathering and Remembering

I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’”- Psalm 122:1

You are an MVP (Most Valuable Person)! Last Sunday night I celebrated the Lakers winning their 17th championship, led by LeBron James’ who earned his fourth Finals MVP, capping the season with another epic performance. Today I celebrate your MVP performance of ENDURANCE in this season. Parents who have taken on the role of a teacher/tutor for their child’s remote learning. Many who have made many adjustments to their work schedules and assignments, working from home, taking less pay, and/or having more things to do. Others who have selflessly encouraged and helped others through their struggles in this difficult season.

With all the challenges in our world, let us not miss the opportunity before us to celebrate! This Sunday, October 18, we are REGATHERING AT THE CHURCH PROPERTY for our SUNDAY SERVICES (9:30 am and 11 am). As we get ready for this special reunion after over seven months of worshiping remotely, I want us to focus on three things:

1) Let us REGATHER IN FAITH- As wonderful as it has been to have new ways and multiple platforms of sharing the Gospel and gathering as God’s people, nothing replaces being together! In Matthew 18:20 Jesus said, “For where two or three gather in My Name, there I am with them.” As we prepare for this special Sunday, please be sure to fill out the sign-up form as there will be limited seating in the sanctuary, as we continue to follow state guidelines: https://tofoursquare.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/57/responses/new. For those who are not quite ready to join us in-person, we will continue to offer both services ONLINE with a pastor/leader to connect and chat with during the services.

2) Let us REMEMBER LOVE- In this season we have seen so many issues dividing people, our nation, and even Jesus’ Church. Psalm 133:1 says, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! As we regather, we will be wearing masks when we are on the property. This is particularly important when you are moving throughout the property, in proximity to others, and during the worship portion of the service. When you are seated before the service begins or during the teaching you may have the freedom to pull your mask down when needed. However, let us be respectful and sensitive to one another.

3) Let us REJOICE IN JESUS- As I have been saying throughout this season, it is still all about the Kingdom, the Good News, and the Harvest! Hebrews 13:15 tells us to, “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess His name.” Let us stay focused on Him, let us give thanks to Him, and let us love and serve Him in a way that is pleasing and bears much fruit. There is still work, to be done and people to be won!

Cheering you on! You are a champion in so many ways and we cannot wait to celebrate with you this coming Sunday!
