Restoration Church
“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.”- Psalm 51:12
The more things change, the more they stay the same. We have all had our lion’s share of change in the past 2-3 years. Last summer as I was praying and reflecting on all the new realities we have experienced and endured through, the word RESTORATION kept reverberating through me. As soon as I felt it, with it growing stronger and stronger within my spirit, I knew that this was to be the new name of our church moving forward.
The move to Restoration Church has nothing to do with being modern, trendy, or slick. Of course, we want to be relevant and relatable to our community and this present culture, but more than that our mission and message remains the same. We are all about the timeless message of the Gospel and the priceless gift of salvation in Jesus. This change has to do with EMBRACING THE NEW. Our church looks much different than it did three years ago: the effects from COVID-19, the move to Saturday Nights, the focus on community impact, and the investment in generations has defined our activities and presented amazing opportunities. In Isaiah 43:19 the Lord declares, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
This change is also about welcoming people who need hope and healing! The word, restoration, means to repair and return something to its original state and/or to a good condition. One of the things that has me excited about this new name is how it perfectly fits our DNA as a loving, Spirit-Led church family and what it communicates to the people we are trying to reach with the light and love of Jesus. Through the power of the Word and the Spirit, we are believing for lives to be restored into right relationship with God, restored in healthy relationship with others, restored in body and mind, restored in all that has been lost, stolen, and broken down! In Acts 3:21 Peter declared about Jesus, “Heaven must receive Him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as He promised long ago through His holy prophets.”
The NEW has come!
No CHANGE can move us!
We are READY for the more God has for us!
